Crane Creations Theatre Company is a professional theatre company in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. We present Bridges International Puppetry Festival each year in March, have training opportunities for youth year-round, and create live theatre productions for local audiences.

Mission
Our mission is to advance the creation, evolution, promotion and support for professional theatre in the Region of Peel. We create and present events that investigate the building blocks of society such as identity, justice, politics, economy, technology and arts. Our goal is to encourage and promote emerging artists by providing them with resources, mentorship and training, and to actively seek collaboration with professional artists and community partners. We are constantly cultivating and expanding national and international ties with professional theatres, presenters, festivals, curators and artists.

When was the company founded?
Crane Creations was legally incorporated as a not for profit organization in 2015. Check out our history here.
How can I join the company?
We are very passionate about creating arts jobs and opportunities for artists, as well as opening the door of the exciting theatre world to volunteers. Please check out our get involved page for more details.
Do you accept scripts from new playwrights?
We are very excited to learn about lesser known playwrights from around the world. We read plays at our monthly Play Date activity, we run a Playwright in Residence program and we occasionally translate plays from foreign languages to English.
Do you have any programs for emerging artists?
Absolutely! We are committed to creating opportunities for young artists by creating arts jobs and internship opportunities such as our Summer Ensemble program.
How many people work at Crane Creations?
The numbers fluctuate greatly depending on the projects we are working on, and it can range up to 50 artists or more. You can find our core artists involved with the company on a regular basis here.
Where do you perform?
We do not currently have our own theatre space. Our projects frequently require different technical capabilities. This means we need to collaborate with different theatre venues across Mississauga such as the Small Arms Building and the Maja Prentice Theatre. Please follow us on social media to keep informed about our next show.
What does the name Crane stand for?
The Crane has a lot of significance for us. In cultures such as that of the Anishinabek, it is a symbol of wisdom and equal communication for all. Cranes are also looked to for guidance. Cranes exist on almost every continent and are known for their migration.

We love to hear from artists from around the world and from Mississauga residents interested in theatre! The best way to keep in touch with us is to message us on social media or to send us an email.
Why are you in Mississauga and not in Toronto?
Mississauga is 6th largest city in Canada, by population. It has more people than Vancouver! There is a real need for a professional theatre company in the city and we are proud to be the only professional theatre company in Mississauga.

Do you rent out your space to other artists?
We offer special space rental rates to local artists. You can also rent our studio for birthday parties, zumba or yoga classes, film and photo shoots at affordable rates. To learn more click here.
Do you offer discounts for group and school tickets?
Yes. We are proud to offer affordable ticket options for everyone. If you are a group, a school, or you are experiencing financial difficulties that prevent you from seeing live theatre, please email us and we will make sure to find a way to help you benefit from watching live theatre.
Do you offer any workshops?
We offer directing workshops for emerging directors, puppetry workshops for children, and a variety of workshops for children and adults. Sign up here to get notifications about the upcoming workshop. They are carefully designed for theatre beginners as well as seasoned professionals.
