About Maja Prentice Theatre

Maja Prentice Theatre is a 198 seat theatre located at the corner of Dixie and Burnamthorpe Road, Mississauga, Ontario Canada. The venue is owned by the City of Mississauga, and managed by a not-for profit professional theatre company, Crane Creations Theatre Company. Maja Prentice is home to live theatre shows, musicals, dance, community events, and more, all year round.

FAQ

Is A Technician Included In My Rental?

You will be assigned a dedicated technician as part of your rental agreement, working with you for a specified duration (located in your agreement) at no additional cost. Should you require the assistance of two technicians or need extra hours beyond the agreed duration, additional charges will apply. 

Do I need to bring my own box office and front of house staff?

We offer to sell your tickets for you, on our own ticketing services, which includes a staff member to run box office for you. If you are selling your own tickets, you are responsible for managing your box office and ticketing. We take care of front of house for you, providing you with ushers and staff to manage concessions. 

Is there a minimum hour requirement

The minimum hour requirement for all public events is 7 hours. This includes time for set up, and take down at the end of your event. If you are holding a private event or event that requires no front of house or technical set up (aka a rehearsal, or class), the minimum hour requirement does not apply.  

Do I need to Clean the theatre, after I am done renting.

You are responsible to leave the space as you found it. We kindly ask that you remove all items you brought with you and leave the washrooms, dressing rooms, auditorium, stage and other areas tidy. Place any trash into garbage and recycle bins. Our team will dispose of the garbage and any items left behind.

ARE FOOD AND DRINKS ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE?

Food and drinks (water excepted) are strictly prohibited inside the theatre. There is a snack bar on the premises, operated by us, that serves food and drinks to guests in the lobby.

What About Food And Drinks Backstage?

Yes, food and drinks are allowed backstage, but only in the green room (a large break room or rest area for performers). 

Is alcohol allowed?

The consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises. 

Is Fire Allowed?

The use of pyrotechnics and fire are strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises. 

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept payment via e-transfer or cheque. 

Do I Need Insurance?

Please provide insurance for your event. Before your rental date, please send us proof of insurance. 

Can I leave any of my belongings at the theatre when I'm not renting?

The short answer is no. You must take all of your belongings and leave the theatre as you found it. If you are doing back to back daily rentals or weekly rentals, then yes, you can leave belongings in the theatre, during your rental. 

How Far In Advance can I book?

The earlier the better. We receive lots of bookings so we recommend that you book well in advance, at least 6 months in advance of your rental.  

What's The Process To Rent?

Check if the dates you would like are available in our calendar.  If your required dates are available, complete a rental request form. Our rental team will respond promptly letting you know if the we are able fulfill to your request.

Can I visit the venue before I book?

Yes, we offer 30 minute tours for free to prospective renters. Book a 30 minute tour here.
