ABOUT THE FILM

Sunu, an Inca boy, prepares for his journey with the gods to help his people to bring rain for the harvests but he loses his camaquen in the way. With the help of the demon Supay from the underworld, Sunu will have to undergo hard tests to reclaim his camaquen and fulfil his journey. Camaquen is the quechua term for soul, which means vital energy.

ABOUT THE FILM MAKER

Maria Jose Campos is an illustrator, teacher, animator and entrepreneur from Lima, Peru living in Aarhus, Denmark. She has an international master in Children’s Literature, Media and Culture from the University of Glasgow and an associate’s degree in Classicall Animation from Vancouver Film School. Her graduation film Little Goddess has been screened in more than 25 festivals around the world. She has won financial awards to produce animation projects such as Camaquen, her first professional short film and the pilot for her developing series Chicho and Darz.
