About the Show

Each star tells us about the past of the universe.

No one can travel at the speed of light.

Nothing is ever sitting still.

Wait. What’s a rubber ducky doing in this story?

Inspired by the work of astrophysicist and science popularizer Stephen Hawking, Théâtre du Renard presents a bold adaptation of his bestseller, A Brief History of Time, in the witty and playful style that characterizes object theatre.

Aristotle, Galileo, Newton, Einstein and Hubble are sung, rapped, recounted and made hilarious again. One woman and 100 objects : this is the story of science as you’ve never heard it before!

Your chance to understand (at last!) the theory of Relativity, the expansion of the Universe, and especially the famous E=mc2 !

About the Creator

Artistic director of Théâtre du Renard, Antonia Leney-Granger is a Canadian artist and educator specializing in object theater and transdisciplinary creation, notably by bridging art and science. Her work touches on several artistic forms, from puppetry to podcasts. Antonia’s insatiable curiosity is the starting point of each new project, all of which explore the transmission of knowledge in a playful and poetic way: astrophysics, quantum physics, ecology, economics, philosophy, etc.

Antonia develops partnerships between artists and organizations in the cultural and scientific sectors, particularly through the organization of conferences and speed dating events between artists and scientists. Very involved in her community, Antonia sits on the board of directors of the Association Québécoise des Marionnettistes (AQM) and of UNIMA-Canada.

About the Company

Based in Montreal, Théâtre du Renard’s mission is to convey specialized knowledge from fields such as science, economics and philosophy to its audience. The company’s clever approach uses the power of images, poetry and humor to make complex ideas accessible and interesting to all.

Théâtre du Renard takes its name from the character of the Fox in Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince. Like the Fox, the company invites its audience to get acquainted with new experiences : hybrid and transdisciplinary theatrical forms, topics rarely explored on stage, new relationships between artists and audience.
