Summer Ensemble Project

Location: 2359 Royal Windsor Drive

Eligibility: students, recent graduates of programs related to live theatre, and emerging artists under 30 years of age.

Every summer a group of emerging artists joins Crane Creations Theatre Company for an eight to ten weeks long exploration of theatre. We work on classical plays and develop new work, learn about professional theatre companies, international and Canadian, discuss what makes good theatre, and what should be produced in theatre today. We investigate what is theatre’s role in the past and in the future. This raw, honest and action packed skills training program aims at expanding ideas and knowledge about theatre while providing our artists with an unparalleled insight into the industry.

Absolutely! Summer ensemble offers above minimum wage full time employment lasting for several weeks. Crane Creations firmly believes compensating artists for their work is essential. Read more about our advocacy regarding paying artists fairly here.

As of now, all rehearsals are taking place over zoom.

We prioritize providing a safe and accommodating environment for all participants. To limit the spread of Covid 19, Crane Creations Theatre Company will provide disposable masks, gloves, face shield, and on site sanitizer. We all visitors and participants to abide by a daily routine consisting of:

  • Washing hands with soap immediately upon arrival at the premises.
  • Applying hand sanitizer
  • Removing shoes prior entering the studio space
  • Enact social distancing

If  any participant or visitor has an increase in temperature we request you to please monitor your health, and report any increase in temperature or exposure to Covid 19 suspicion.

This opportunity is best suited for recent graduates of drama and theatre programs.

As of now all the rehearsals are taking place online via zoom. You are expected to attend all rehersals.
